ARPUS/ce, Version 2.6.2 (03/10/05) (SCCS 1.5)

 pw
 "pad write"

 DESCRIPTION:
Use 'pw' to flush the edit file to disk. The window remains open.
pw has no effect on read-only windows.

The first time pw is issued for an edit window, a '.bak' file is
created (unless you have disabled the creation of such a file via
your .Xdefaults file or the ce command line options). The '.bak'
file is a copy of the edit file prior to any changes being
     applied.

Subsequent pw commands rewrite the edit file to the disk without
affecting the '.bak' file. If the write of a file fails, the pad
write command attempts to create a crash file. Crash files are
suffixed with the name of the file suffixed by '.CRA'. Ce makes
several attempts to create the crash file. A description of crash
file creation can be found in the Backup Concepts help file.
